You Will Never Be Enough
So stop hoping for satisfaction
A few decades ago, if you were born in a village, you would likely spend your entire life there or in the nearby surroundings. Your heroes were local and seemed within reach.
Today, the internet has turned the entire world into a village. Your heroes may live thousands of kilometers away, and their achievements can seem unattainable.
Comparison made me unsatisfied with my life. I sometimes feel envious and unlucky, as if I’m missing out on the precious time that I have been given to live down here.
At the same time, I feel lucky to live where I live and have the life I have. Modernity, despite its criticisms, offers you access to infinite knowledge at a low cost and reach billions of people with just a click.
So yeah, seeing all those great successes motivates me to do more in my life. But this is also what makes me suffer. Suffer from the thought that I am not enough.
For a long time, I wanted to stop feeling this way, believing it would boost my self-confidence. But It turns out that’s not quite the case…
